On behalf of the History association, Department of History organised Nattugadhiga on 8th June 2015. On the occasion Kovilmala Raja, Raman Raja Mannan , the one and only tribal king of Kerala came to the college to deliver a talk on Identity and Culture of Tribal People.
Commemoration of Hiroshima Nagazaki day

As part of the commemoration of Hiroshima Nagazaki day Department of history arranged a college level caricature competition on 5th August 2015, at 1.30 pm, with a title, Towards a Peaceful world.
History Association Inauguration

Inauguration of the History Association was conducted on 10th September 2015 at 2 .00 pm in the college auditorium. Dr. James John, HOD Cum Vice-principal, St.Thomas College, Palai, inaugurated the programme and delivered the talk on Portuguese Maritime Activities in Malabar. The main attraction of the day was the performance of Thamper, traditional percussion of Melukavu.

Dr. Ani Tresa Ephraim, Associate Professor, Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, Kalady delivered the lecture on the topic, The Question of Adivasi Land in Kerala: Tracing Roots from History.

Fourth extension lecture of the department was held on 14th May 2018. Dr. Bibin Kuriakose, Asst. Professor, Marthoma College for Women, Perumbavoor delivered the lecture on Evangelical Ethnography and the question of Religion in Kerala.

On October 3rd 2018, an exhibition titled ‘Talisman’ was organised by the Department of History in the seminar hall. Gandhian thoughts in quotes were exhibited in order to think and reflect on.

Megalithic Site at Kurumannu

On 1st October 2018 afternoon, I MA and II MA students and HOD Dr. Beena Paul along with the archaeologist Dr. Jenne Peter conducted a field survey in a megalithic site at Kurumannu, 6km away from the college. Students got the opportunity to visit a megalithic site.
