Museums are more than places where objects are exhibited and conserved. It is a cultural space to pass on cultural values. A museum plays an important role to preserve and disseminate knowledge about the past cultures and to preserve the identity of their own cultures.
The Heritage Museum of Henry Baker College, Melukavu, is an initiative of the Department of History. The museum was set up in March 2017 with the support of Alumni Association. Our museum is a treasure trove of historical and cultural remnants of the bygone days. It is an effort to collect remnants of the past, particularly in and around Melukavu. As Melukavu is an agrarian belt, collection in the museum is mainly goods from agricultural and rural background.
