The NSS unit of the college has bagged the award instituted by Haritha Keralam Mission. This was under the scheme of Aayiram Pachathuruthukal (thousand greenspots). The NSS unit started its effort to set up a biodiversity park at MDCMS, Chalamattom in 2019. The NSS volunteers have taken great pains in preparing the bed for this park. The park was completed in six days. It is an effort to develop a rapport between man and nature. The effort was paid off with an award from Haritha Kerala Mission.
