Rev. Henry Baker Jr.
The Apostle of Hills.

From Darkness into Marvellous Light

“Lead kindly light amid the encircling gloom, lead Thou me on,
The night is dark and I am far from home, lead Thou me on,
Keep Thou my feet , I do not ask to see,
The distant scen , one step enough for me.”

Bishop Rt. Rev. Dr. K.G. Daniel M.A; B.D; D.Min

Greetings from the CSI East Kerala Diocese and from Henry Baker College.
The name Henry Baker has a long history. Rev. Henry Baker (Jr) came as a Christian missionary to this hilly area of Kerala in 1852. He came with the gospel of Jesus Christ and English education. He came with the BIBLE and letters  into this tribal area of Melukavu and brought the people to the light of knowledge. The people kept on the light shining and in God’s time this college is established in the name of the great missionary who led us from darkness to marvelous light. This college exists to spread the same light, the forefathers received, to the generations to come.
I welcome you to be part of this great ministry of enlightenment through education.

Yours in His service,

Rt. Rev. Dr. K. G. Daniel,
Manager HB College.
